What’s New In American 🇺🇸 Kitchen Design 2020-2021 

Thank goodness that even though all white kitchen cabinetry, countertops & backsplash have been so popular I’m so happy to find boldness in color added in as well! It makes you feel more vibrant & alive and being a gardener I see the most beautiful colors God paints with his celestial palate in my beautiful garden even Eve would be jealous 😂 Also, death to those open shelves showing all your dusty dishes & welcome to beautiful cabinetry! There’s nothing like custom-crafted cabinetry for your home 🏡 My mom used to say “a place for everything and everything in its place”. Being organized makes life so much less stressful-it’s so important to know exactly where your measuring cups &spoons are when whipping up those healthy meals for your family 🥙🌮🍛🥑

Before & After Guest Bedroom Renovation

This Guest Bedroom had not been renovated in over 20 years! My clients asked me to update it to bring it into this decade & make it comfortable for any gender, age.  I chose Benjamin Moore's HC-150 Yarmouth Blue as a starting point. Before & After Family Room

This dark & cramped family room received a makeover by razing the ceiling & vaulting it! In addition 2 skylights were added to bring in as much natural light as possible.  The carpeting was stripped & a new wood floor was added, stained & finished to provide a flawless transition to the rest of the home.   The walnut paneling was removed & replaced with brand new sheetrock then wallpapered in a neutral texture & an architextural border added.  A custom fabricated corner media cabinet was made by local craftsmen.  Custom bookshelves were also added behind the sofa. The homeowner's artwork dons the walls & Silhouette shades diffuse the light on a single window & a bay window. The furnishings reflect a natural setting with a slate-topped table & Navajo inspired area rug.

Eric Chapeau's Technique of Eggshelling on Furniture

These are Eric Chapeau's Eggshelling Finishes that will be featured Easter morning on WCBS-Ch 2 in Manhattan New York at 9 am EDT. It takes tens of thousands of eggshells for one project! The interior designer Michael Smith has already inquired about Eric making a dozen chairs for one of his clients.
