This fantasy room was designed by the creative director of Oscar de la Renta Home. This presentation reminds me of early Brunschwig & Fils designed rooms with a sensibility for this century with bold dazzling colorful fabrics! The tented ceiling, wall & drapery fabric seems to envelop the room rendering it cozy & festive! Silk & Linen Velvets for the upholstery which wear so well & an organic-designed linen for the slipper chairs. The chevron ribbon graphic & animal prints add punch to the sofa and the card table chairs wearing a Deco woven velvet that seems to dance the tango! All courtesy of Lee Jofa fabrics (available through DTI) & House Beautiful Oct 2010 issue.

"The Curator" for Fine & Fun-ky Design!
Attended House Beautiful's afternoon keynote program given by Editor in Chief Newell Turner, Judi Roaman (The Accessorator) & Darius Monsef IV founder of COLOURlovers & came away with a new perspective on design trends 2010-11! Eco-Green, Global, Fun-ky & New Victorian are all terms used by the experts to explain the direction of home decorating trends. I am now a "curator" as opposed to a decorator/designer! Like the curator of a museum I take the best of what's out there & give it to clients; editing out the undesirable crap! For more check me out on http://Twitter.com/designerluv1

2010 Hampton Designer Showhouse Kitchen
Cutting edge technology seems at home here with cottage white Craftsman-style cabinetry. Refrigerated compartments are housed within the cabinetry as well as warming drawers to keep meals at the perfect serving temperature. Two-inch Calcutta marble counters & vintage pendant lighting in polished nickel along with a stainless steel farm sink (unseen in this photo) gives this cozy cottage charm!
2010 Hampton Showhouse Guest Bedroom
The guest bedroom walls are covered in plum silk grasscloth which is stunning live! The delicate embroidered fabric by Lee Jofa very simply dresses the French doors, windows & bed canopy. A very comfortable guest bedroom. I would add Hunter-Douglas Luminette privacy shadings with remote control under the draperies.

Master Bedroom Mirrored Furniture
The entire bed is rendered in an antiqued mirrored finish such as you would find at the best Parisian flea markets. Pale lavendar walls & deeper shade draperies define the glamourous elegant space. Sophisticated mix of period & modern pieces give this room a definite European flair!
Master Bedroom Sitting Area
This Master Suite features a sitting area with a silverleaf metallic~painted octagonal domed ceiling. It's stunning in person! It reflects the mirrored furniture in the adjoining bedroom.
Verandah
This verandah features a colorful splash of Morrocan~inspired ikat fabrics for the accent pillows & as artwork above the summer white cushions contrast~corded in tangerine! Draping fabric across the doorways also adds to the exotic flair!

2010 Hampton Showhouse Dining Room
The beautiful coffered ceiling & wall paneling create the backdrop for this Georgian~inspired dining room. The bold citron formal draperies contrast with the "Irish blue" walls. The round Regency table and painted chairs dressed in pink leather pick up the colors of the 19th century Indian cotton Agra carpet. Bold splashes of color work here! Not so sure about the choice of lampshade pendant lighting. I would have done something transparent such as a crystal chandelier so you can see the beauty of this bay window treatment instead of hiding it.
2010 Hampton Showhouse Grand Living Room
This 2-story living room features a 22' white stacked-stone fireplace, detailed wall paneling & a wall of windows to the pool & reserve. The woven textured stripe Phillip Jeffries wallcovering complements the natural stone. Sunburst mirror above the fireplace, tall mirrored cabinets flanking the fireplace & tastefully simple upholstered sofa/pillow allows the draperies in a graphic geometric take center stage as the only print fabric in the room. It also mimics the design in the pair of tall cabinets to tie those elements together.
2010 Hampton Designer Showhouse Foyer
Architectural panel & moulding appointments make this entrance foyer classicly elegant. The wallcovering is luxuriously woven; both solid and wide stripe. The simple table & fern with decorative glass balls shakes things up from being too serious & formal. The potted plant & decorative lighting adds to the lighthearted feeling!

Hamptons Chanel-Inspired Master Bathroom
This Coco Chanel~inspired Master Bath from the Hamptons Designer Showhouse is romantic & peaceful. It has a touch of luxury with the French custom cabinetry & clawfoot tub. I luv the vanity chair & lighting~the only change I would have made would be to add a plush lambswool area rug to step onto coming out of the tub. Oh yes~and a few soy candles!

St. Peter's Church in St. George's Parish Bermuda
I took these photos inside historic St. Peter's Church in the parish of St. George's, Bermuda. The original church was built with handhewn cedar & in the second photo you can see that the support is actually a tree trunk!

Asian Watercolors
This pair of delicate Asian watercolors promote good feng shui for many reasons. The rich red textured wallpaper they are displayed on promotes stimulating conversation~the reason it's the most widely used colortone in restaurants. Nature & living creatures even in artwork promote longevity& bring harmony into the interior. Pairs denote good fortune. If you are seeking a partner you should always pair up your collections~never in groups of three or the lonely #1.
Classic Meets Modern
By combining elements of classic design with modern we have a melding of styles that suits this penthouse client just fine. The pair of Oscar de la Renta mother-of-pearl nesting tables & Century Brushed Aluminum mirrored side table juxtaposed with the classically pinstriped wing chairs & Masland custom area rugs in Regatta, Crimson & Sharkstooth. The antique Gustavian dining chairs in a fruitwood finish are paired with the naturally exotic deep finish of the Indonesian suar wood table base. Glass top keeps it light & airy. The alabaster pendant lights over the kitchen's center island is fresh & modern in brushed nickel.

Boudoir of Marie Antoinette
This is the boudoir of the infamous Marie Antoinette~lover of King Louis XV of 18th Century France. Madame de Pompadour as she was known had a penchant for interior design which she brought to the Palace of Versailles and The Petite Trianon. Her trellis designed wallpaper (fleuretted treillage) & architectural mouldings were embossed with 24k gold. The framed canopied bed acted to keep in warmth from the drafty palace~the fleur-de-lys (popular iris flower) motif is prominent in the ceiling rotunda. It is rather museum-like with the chairs pushed up against the walls as was customary at the time.

Inspirational Music Room
Open & Airy best describes this modern music room with elements of earth, fire, wind & sky~a peaceful place for a songwriter to channel divine energy! The architectural style is reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright with the stacked quartzite stone columns & expansive windows bring the outdoors in~another eastern influence loved by FLW.
The warmth of the wood gives this entrance foyer a welcoming & serene feeling! The large framed mirror lends visual depth & amplifies the space along with the lighting turning up the volume on STYLE!
Sliding Sculpture Reveals Home Theatre
In this exquisitely designed media/game room Holly Hunt sofa & chairs provide quality comfort while the Louise Nevelson sculpture appears to float on the walnut panels above the fireplace & slides up remotely to reveal the home theatre. The coffered ceiling displays light fixtures from Boyd thru the Jerry Pair showroom in DCOTA. Candleholders are from Urban Art Miami.
Modern & Warm Interiors
This warm modern dining space has both simplicity of design & the comfort for entertaining! The Spinnybeck leather banquette & custom table accomodates a maximum number of guests. The light fixture is from Holly Hunt. Chairs are Berman Rosetti thru David Sutherland. The geometric area rug adds texture and mimics the handrail of the stairs. The wall scupture in warm wood adds visual depth to the room.
